Labour leader calls for emergency services pay rise

Labour Party Leader calls for emergency services to get a pay rise after meeting heroes at the Pride of Britain awards.

The awards are on TV tonight and feature PC Wayne Marques and PC Charlie Guenigault receiving awards - plus PC Keith Palmer receiving a posthumous award.

Jeremy Corbyn said: "Tonight we’ve quite correctly, praised the police service, praised the fire service, praised the ambulance service for all they’ve achieved.

"They don’t deserve frozen pay, they don’t deserve job losses, job cuts.

"They do deserve investment and recognition by all of us that we appreciate what they do to keep us all safe."
