Officers injured in "brutal and unacceptable" incident
A Met officer has suffered a broken cheekbone and two colleagues were injured after responding to a mass brawl in south London.
The officers have been praised for their bravery in what has been described as a "brutal and unacceptable incident".
We wish the officers a speedy recovery.
Officers were called to a fight at a put in Wandsworth on Sunday, but the scale of the brawl led to officers requesting help from the Territorial Support Group.
The three officers were injured when they tried to make arrests.
Supt Peter Gardner, of Wandsworth police, has condemned officers being attacked while they were doing their job.
He said: “This is a shocking, brutal and unacceptable incident that has resulted in our officers sustaining serious injuries in the course of their duty.
“I would like to commend the bravery shown by our officers and thank those officers from across the MPS that responded to assist them."
