Tiles thrown at officers during rooftop standoff
Armed Met officers have arrested two men who were throwing tiles at officers in the street during a rooftop standoff in Kilburn.
The Express says that Met officers attended at 5pm yesterday (26th March) as reports came in that the two men had been seen tampering with a motorcycle.
When they were challenged, they fled to rooftops of houses nearby and proceeded to throw tiles and objects at the officers below.
A member of the public reported that the men had been carrying guns, although this has not been officially confirmed.
Video footage has emerged of the two suspects pacing on top of the roof of terraced houses where they could be seen causing damage and hurling items at police.
Two police helicopters attended, cordons were set up and some residents were evacuated for their safety.
The National Police Air Service tweeted to say that the men were now in custody and enquiries were ongoing.
