Lest we Forget - DC James Morrison

Lest we Forget - DC James Morrison

DC James (Jim) Morrison was murdered on his way from duty on 13th December 1991.  We will never forget.

DC Jim Morrison was just 26 when he was stabbed to death trying to arrest a suspected bag snatcher in the West End.  He joined the job in 1983 and served at Bow Street.  In 1988, the year he married, he transferred to the CID where he was remembered for his "dedication to duty and flair for dealing with street crime."  On Friday 13th December he was making his way home when at about 10.15pm he spotted the suspected bag thief and he challenged him outside the London Transport Museum.  The thief puled out a knife and ran off.  DC Morrison gave chase through Tavistock Street, the Aldwych and into Montreal Place, where he was stabbed.  His murder remains unsolved.

May he rest in peace.
