IMPORTANT INFORMATION ON HOW TO ACCESS THE MEMBERS SECTION

Welcome to our website relaunch, we hope our officers will enjoy the members section which is full of useful information and advice.

Any officer wishing to access the new members section (even if you have previously registered) must re-register on the site using their name, email address and warrant number.

You cannot use your work email and some officers have had difficulty using Met IT

Use a personal email and your own smartphone, laptop or tablet.

We advise against using your email as your username

For most officers their warrant number is a 6 digit number which does not include a p or their pay prefix.

You must be (or have been before retirement) a subscribing member of the Police Federation.

Once we have confirmed your warrant number, you will be able to access all areas of the site

For the best experience visiting our site you should use a more recent version of your browser application. Some officers may find that the images are not compatible with older versions of their browser.

Letter From MPF To Commissioner Sir Mark Rowley

Dear Commissioner,

Re: Comments at the Police and Crime Committee – 16 October 2025

I am writing regarding your remarks to the Police and Crime Committee meeting concerning myself and the Metropolitan Police Federation.

I was disappointed to hear my office referenced in the context of Freemasonry and the Federation’s engagement on the Met’s Conflict of Interest Policy. It is wholly inappropriate for personal comments about an elected representative of officers to be made in a public forum.

The Federation’s role is to represent and protect the interests of all our members, particularly where policies may affect their rights, privacy, or professional standing. Our engagement on the Conflict of Interest Policy was entirely proper and conducted in good faith. To characterise it as a “tirade” is inaccurate and unhelpful.

For clarity, I am not and never have been a member of any Masonic organisation. Nonetheless, personal affiliations remain a private matter. Public speculation or commentary on such matters is unprofessional and risks distracting from the shared objective of fostering transparency, and integrity within the Met.

Comments of this nature also risk undermining any relationship that may exist between the Federation and the Met if we are to work effectively on behalf of officers and the public. I respectfully urge you to reflect on the impact of your remarks and to recommit to open, professional, and respectful dialogue going forward.

Best wishes.

Matt Cane

General Secretary
