Metropolitan Police Federation Equality Lead has said that “all legal options are on the table” when it comes to supporting officers on adjusted duties.
Niven Poliah was speaking as some Metropolitan Police officers on adjusted duties start new roles after being redeployed in the service.
The process began in September 2025, when many officers on adjusted duties in the Met were informed they were in scope to be redeployed or reapply for their current role.
Niven said: “This process has caused a large amount of pain and anguish for our adjusted officers. My message to those officers, and what I can announce today, is all legal options are on the table.
“I have briefed all reps with briefing notes on the questions they need to guide you and help you throughout this process, and I will continue to do that.
“My message to the Met today is this is a shameful process, and you call yourself a Disability Confident Leader, but you're frankly not showing that right now.”
