Sheer Volume of Enquiries to the Federation Operation Fortress Mailbox
As we reported previously, officers should have received an email to their personal email account (held by the federation) together with a link to a survey regarding the MPS databreach claim.
Officers who did not receive the email, deleted it erroneously or incorrectly filled out the survey can request that they be re-sent the email and link.
If you believe that you have been impacted by the breach but have not received a link to the survey, please email fortressenquiries@metfed.org.uk with your full name, warrant number, date of birth and personal email address.
It must be your personal email to avoid the risk of prejudicing your potential claim in the event that PMC subsequently advise that there is a viable claim against the Metropolitan Police Service in respect of its handling of your personal data.
This has generated thousands of responses from officers requesting that they be re-sent the link.
We are working through those email responses as quickly as we can and adding officers to a spreadsheet to be re-sent the link. Due to the sheer volume, we simply cannot process them all as quickly as we had initially hoped, so they are being sent out in batches. We must of course be mindful to balance processing the emails with our day-to-day responsibilities.
The good news is that we have 6 years in which to bring a claim, if the evidence shows that there is a case to answer, and the survey will not be closed until all the emails are answered.
Emailing the Fortress mailbox to say that you have still not received a reply will simply result in duplication on the spreadsheet and you being sent the link twice
We would ask that officers bear with us and show patience at this time.
Thank you
